This series of paintings evolves from images of trees. They are reminiscent of observations from time I spend in mountain forests and urban gardens. The paintings are an exploration of the manner in which a tree responds to its environment. Natural elements of wind, moisture, sun, density, as well as the elements of cultivation, all have a profound influence on its form and the texture of its bark.
